Wont discourage you from joining but just so you know they also have a filter that seems to be more sensitive than here.

Every once in a while, a contextually correct word caused a belly laugh. Overall, it didn't help anything and when it got "deep," it was over the top.

I'll be happy with the filter and learn to live with it if scrapping a project or cocking a hammer becomes a problem.

Sorry but there is no need to censor an adult forum just cuz it is public and searchable. Porn sites are public too...why not just raise your kids right and monitor their internet access if it is a concern?

Because kids will be kids - and there are adults out there that don't care for some of the language often seen on the boards. I view it as speaking in public to a mixed audience - for all I know, there are kids or ladies (and even men) present that don't curse, and find such language offensive. I can choose to ignore their sensibilities, or temper my words so that EVERYONE knows what I'm saying, and I offend none.

I'd rather my message come across in as unoffensive a way as possible from a standpoint of verbage. But....that's just me.

Yep - and as noted above, some of it was unintentional! Should be corrected now. But for clarity, those trying to "spoof" the system will find it's NOT cool to do so. Then again, that's the basis with which the board was started.

Yep. I have no complaints with you choosing to use a filter and joined knowing those are your rules. Even if I feel they're unnecessary I chose to comply by joining.

I'm more perturbed with the situation here because I joined when no such rule was in place. The internet has never been a place for kids or the overly sensitive in my opinion. I make more of an effort to watch my language in public because people cant logout or choose to limit the real world.

It's kinda sad when its used because someone lost their thesaurus and couldn't pass a 5th grade English class.

Still, this isn't like being at someone's house. It's more like being in someone's bar and they're voluntarily banning smoking. It could bring new clientele or it could make the place go under.

That seems to sum it up pretty well although I disagree with the last sentence.

Aside from that weird bi-polar guy (anyone remember him?), the cussing here has always been at a pretty low frequency.
