I was on this car forum and they had a trivia contest or question of the day type thing with the question being, Who won the first Tour de France. I'm like this is easy, I said the 5th panzer division.

The mod was apparently French and didnt like my answer. He banned me.

    Rim shot.
Shamelessly paraphrased and repackaged funny to live another day.

The French have came up with their own unique terror warning system!
They keep it simple there are just four warning stages.
    Stage one. Run
    Stage two. Hide
    Stage three. Surrender
    Stage four. Collaborate

A French cop and Britt Bobby were talking one day and comparing their experiences as law Enforcement to each other.

The French cop asked why most British cops are unarmed.

"It's to help keep our relationship with the people in the best possible shape" the Bobby said.

"I can see that I guess", Frenchy said, "it's kinda the same idea here except there are lots of cities where all our police are armed due to crime".

The Bobby said "ya, all the police in Northern Ireland are armed too and there are armed specialists available everywhere if needed and we deploy them in some places as a deterrent".

The French officer asked "why do you guys wear such bright uniforms or body armor, is it so people will feel safe knowing you're around to keep them safe"?

The Bobby chuckled and said "no. It's so the people will know who to follow and in what direction to run when the shit hits the fan". "They might not be able to keep up but they can see that neon green flash hauling ass even when the bullets are flying and can follow our lead".

Frenchy laughed and said "we have a whole army that hauls ass when there is danger afoot, it helps our unarmed police cause there is usually plenty of weapons laying around if they need them".

The only great contribution to society that the French have made is the BJ.
As I recall from my grammar school history lessons, had it not been for the French, we would likely still be subjects of British royalty. Wasn't their involvement in our revolution a great contribution to society (at least to our society)? If not that, then what about mayonnaise, french fries, the modern bikini and Bridgette Bardot? I will say though, if none of those are considered great, and if they truly invented the BJ, how can anyone fault them just for being wussies in modern wars! I mean come on now - that has to be one of the greatest contributions to the world of all time.

True fact, not a joke, but still funny - The Compton's Encyclopedia (the sort you bought if you couldn't afford Encyclopedia Brittanica) my parents bought ~1960 had a wonderful, high-res, full-color section showing flags of the world. The joker who compiled it actually included the "French Battle Flag", a solid white flag of surrender. I was well past college before I realized it was a joke.

We paid them back at least 3 times - WWI, WWII, Vietnam.

What are the French gun laws like?
Like much of Europe, you can do a lot more than people think. Self-defense isn't an option but sport shooting and hunting is allowed.

They have some odd rules limiting the amount of ammunition you may possess. That's one reason reloading is popular there. If you can only have 100 (I think, but I'm not sure) rounds for a handgun, you might as well make it a .44 Mag and stock up on cases, powder, primers, and bullets.

There are some huge shooting clubs in France. I've posted pictures to TGT before.

That's off the top of my head. I'll let someone with recent, first-hand knowledge take over from here.

Always thought the French rifle line was, Never fired only dropped once.
My Dad bought a Browning A5 while we were stationed in Laon way back when. The Air Bases had very active Rod and Gun clubs
