Hell Traildust, I'm guessing all of us here in TX would trade a week or two of that doom and gloom for what we have here now...
Since we are already tipping well past the century mark in June, I'm kinda worried what august is gonna be like.
man its 105 and i am sweating like i am being questioned
by the police with no alibi
We've got the opposite problem of heat along the coast here, called June Gloom. Low clouds and fog persist pretty much 24 hours a day from late April through mid-July, and drizzle is common. Thank goodness that a quick drive to the the deserts for relief with the clear skies and 110+ heat!
Gawd, I remember that June Gloom crap. Sucked big time. I'm so glad I moved my old ass to Nevada. Sun 300+ days a year and "the sky is not cloudy all day." Although when it does get cloudy, we have some very neat thunderstorms. Lightning - God's light show and I'm outside watching every minute I can.
Where in Nevada, if you don't mind me asking? Even a region is fine if you don't want to name the town.
Las Vegas. I don't work in a casino. It seems that a lot of people who live in other states seem to think that EVERYONE who lives in Las Vegas either works in a casino or gambles all the time. I don't remember the last time I went into a casino let alone laid down any bets.
Working at the Bunny Ranch? Uh, heard stories about it. Never been there. (That's my story and I'm sticking to it...)Las Vegas. I don't work in a casino. There's quite a number of them in the state. What say we get a meet going in Nevada and just tell your significant others you're hunting bunnies....
So, none in Las Vegas because it's in Clark County where over 80% of the 2 million people in the state live. But, as of 2008, there were 28 legal brothels in the state of Nevada in those counties that allow them....Nevada law states that counties with a population of 400,000 or more may not allow legal prostitution. There are only two that reach this threshold - Washoe (Reno) and Clark (Las Vegas). Other counties have the option of permitting legal brothels or not. Those opting out include Carson City/County, Douglas County, and Lincoln County. Eleven of Nevada's 12 other counties allow regulated and licensed brothels, though they do not exist in every county in which they are legal. These 11 counties are Churchill, Esmeralda, Pershing, Storey, Lander, Lyon, Humboldt, Elko, White Pine, Mineral, and Nye. Eureka County has no laws either allowing or prohibiting brothels.
