I have a DAO semi auto and I am looking into getting another one soon. I prefer to have the hammer down as I like to be able to just have a pull the trigger to fire a round. I tried SAO with a 1911 and HiPower but once I tried DAO and DA+SA I liked them a lot better. Which do you prefer and why?

I’ve shot pretty much all the action variations for a handgun. My preference is a consistent trigger pull for all shots, at around 4lbs or so, which a DA/SA just doesn’t provide.

DA/SA or SAO is my preference. Typically because of the triggers. I don't mind a manual safety. Overall the preference is driven from the trigger. I do not enjoy a DA trigger

Yes, I do like them both.

Why? Because I'm just not a big fan of striker fired pistols.

I kid. I've seen multiple articles describing striker fired pistols as essentially a variation on DAO, which I don't really get. Maybe it's technically true, but the PPQ in particular with is sweet trigger is more like a SAO in my opinion.
