Some people spend more money on tires and rims than they paid for the vehicle.
Some people spend more money on their ghetto blasters than their car.
I have seen vehicles with 1 giant rim. Then a 2nd giant rim next month and so on, until all 4 giant rims were on and matching.
It seems logical to assume that it would have to do with the cost of the rims and tires and paycheck frequency and size.
But it sure makes you do a double-take when you see that.
Sucks that the dude's ride got destroyed but he should have looked better. Yes, the low setting sun was in his eyes but that means you gotta turn your hat around and use the bill to shield your eyes from the sun and you gotta look twice. I have been bitten by low sun in the past. It is very dangerous.
