I love the weather this time of year, when it doesn’t look out of place to be bundled up and have a sport coat on at dinner.

This is when The Big Uglies come out.

I keep my “big ugly” tucked away whenever I’m in public.

    Nice looking weapons!

What is the Ruger chambered in?
    .357 Magnum

It’s the Wiley Clapp, gray parkerized. Smooth shooting. The grip has a traditional shape but does an awesome job reducing felt recoil.

As someone brand new to the great state of Texas, it still amazes me that there seems to be several climates here. Where I’m at was almost 90 today. No carrying large handguns for me lol.

I have an easier time carrying concealed in warmer weather - loose button-up shirts will cover any pistol I care to carry. Winter, though...my jackets don't do a great job of hiding for me. I wind up pocket carrying more often.

Up here where I am, we had a cold rainy weekend...and we're looking at 3 days of freezing rain coming.

Steppin out in the freezing rain with my 45 Colt Competition in a Galco OWB. Wife packing her G43 in a Crossbreed IWB.

”Hey babe, take a picture of my Colt on me.”
”Do you really want the world to know you have no ass?”
    ”I’m a real person, with feelings…”
”Take me to breakfast before they rope you in on your day off again.”

I can do 30's and 40's standing on my head. I was born and raised in Chicago, 4 ft. of snow, below 0 temps, Ice, blizzards, no thanks. That's why I am in Texas now, I'll deal with the occasional Hurricane and the flooding.

I hear you, upstate NY, moved to Houston in 2000. No way I'm going back to NY. Weather and politics keeping me here.

So there's already a layer of ice on everything. Roads so far appear to be passable but I'm not expecting it to last long...

Time to build a fire so I can be warm while I work from home.
Ha, everybody seems to be driving 35mph. Some moisture on the roads but dry tire paths without ice. I had to drive 10 miles to buy an odd sized car battery and it took forever.

But wait until it does get slick. Then we'll have people driving 20mph over the speedlimit.
