Why do so many folks have the wrong address on their DL or LTC or both?

It makes buying a gun harder than it needs to be....................

Guy from out of town with LTC and wrong address , can't use it.....gets delayed.............

keep the darn things up to date....................

They mail them to the address given by the individual. So if they have the wrong address on the DL/LTC how do they get them in the mail?

Of course, there was the individual who borrowed his buddys' LTC for a sale. LTC did not look like him and when he finally produced his DL to confirm it was him, different names, addresses, etc. I only double checked because of a scam run at safety training site in Midland.

Not up to speed on Texas LTC stuff yet - but my old CHL had to match your DL or it was invalid, and you were technically committing a misdemeanor if you were carrying. They gave you 30 days to notify of address changes. Same with DL's - and its not like you had to get a new card, they'd send you a sticker to put over the address part of your ID. It looked like shit, and you'd have to get a new sticker every 12 months unless you splurged for a replacement card because the ink wore off.

    People are just dumb.

I usually submitted address change to DMV within a week of moving, because if I found a gun I wanted, I didn't want to miss out because of mismatched info.

    Not where you are
Takes a few minutes online to update/renew DL or LTC unless its been over 10 yrs (iirc thats the time) and they want a new pic.

I renewed both recently (couple yrs now) online in less than 15 min.

Next time I have to go to DMV as my pic will need updated.

Really dont get why anyone would NOT update these items as it easy as hell.

Sometimes stuff happens. I moved in 2017 and promptly completed an online address change for both my DL and LTC. I received a confirmation email for both, but didn't receive my updated LTC.

I only thought about a few months later.

I prefer two cards myself. Not everyone should know that I am a LTC holder just because I have to show them my ID. Unless you make it small and on the back like an endorsement.

That's how I'd like to see it - just add an endorsement on the DL, put it on the back with its own letter code. Typically the only people who would get it would be other LTC holders, LE types, DPS workers, and a handful of non-gun types who nerd out on such stuff.

Of course a better solution would be Constitutional Carry, no cards, no endorsements required then

Nope. Then the bartender is gonna start asking questions.
Not being a drinker, it is not a really a concern of mine. However, at the risk of sounding like a conspiracy theorist, I will say my main concern is a bad LEO will decide to toss an LTC when they get irate during a "routine" stop and claim the citizen did not produce it.
