    To All,

To answer the original question: EXCEPT for the TRUE GUN-HATERS, a 2-4" barrel Colts, Ruger or S&W .38SPL/.357MAG revolver OR most any of the 9mm-.45ACP SA "single-stack" pistols is GENERALLY DEEMED inoffensive & is also VERY SUITABLE for home & self defense.
Fwiw, I once heard (then US Senator) Joe Biden say that he had inherited his uncle's .38 Victory Model & that he sometimes "pocket carried" that WWII-era revolver.

My mid-1960s S&W Model 10 "snubbie" has been "my constant companion" since 1966, when I bought it used from a pawn shop for about 50 bucks. = It has OFTEN been "quite comforting" to have on my belt, given some of the "sketchy places" in CONUS & abroad, where I've often been over those years.
