How many of you ever shot these in your 30-30. They were devastating on coyotes when I could get them cheap!!!

I haven't, but I always want to some just for my collection. What is the rated velocity for those? Do they stabilize okay?
Just shy of 4,000fps were the published speeds, but I was never able to verify through a cronograph. They were stable out to about 75 yards then they opened up very quickly. They were also made for .308 and 30-06, but the anti-gun nuts said they would become assasin's bullets because the sabot prevented rifling from marking the bullet. Remington finally gave in and quit making them for any caliber. Supposedly the .308 and 30-06 were more accurate for a further distance due to the longer than carbine barrel of the Model 94. I would love to have some to try in my .308 and my 03A3 in 30-06.

I tried then in a 30/06 back in the 80's. Accuracy left a LOT to be desired. I bought them to shoot Coyotes but ended up just using Core-Locts.

Evidently you had the barrel pointed in the wrong direction.
Nope, Grew up shooting a 30-06 as a teenager in the 70's. The 30-30 was a pretty soft 30 caliber round in my book.
    Only lever action's I ever cared for are 22lr / 22 Mag, and pistol caliber 38 / 357, 44 Mag, and 45 Colt.

The 30-30 will never be in my list of favorites.

The discussion about 30-30 popularity keeps coming to mind. Someone mentioned it could be age specific. What say ye?

I bought mine at a pawn shop in the 80's. Came with a rubberized scope which is still on it. Its taken lots of deer and pigs. Any time i hunt in E TX it goes with me. I load some 125g HPs for it that are as lethal as anything I have ever loaded for a gun of any caliber.

Pawn shop guy said the guy he got it from told him it was dead on at 100yds. I took it from the pawn shop to the woods, and shot a nice 10 point buck with it a few hours later.

Along with the guitar I traded in, I was only out $32 for it.

I own several lever actions but my 30 30 is made from Sear Roebuck brand. It was bought in 1964 and passed down to me from my father.

Nope. Shot them a few times but never had one. Either had .06 or .270 and now I’ll use .308 or if I want less recoil .223. For lever/pump it’s .22lr or .357.
