Leadership you can believe in. At least Biden is going through the book ... looking at pictures if nothing else.

The two books -- "Lessons in Disaster," on Mr. Obama's nightstand, and "A Better War" on the shelves of military gurus -- have become a framework for the debate over what will be one of the most important decisions of Mr. Obama's presidency.

I never understand it when the administration refuses to listen to the military in military matters. We have paid a lot of money and spent a lot of time to train these generals in the art of war, and then they are ignored.

If any lesson is to be learned from Vietnam it was listen to your military advisers.

If I was building a new house, I'd listen to the general contractor, or get another GC. I sure as hell wouldn't read two books on building and then tell the GC how to build.

You got that right... wars are won by generals and lost by politicians.
