Just curious about the double edged knife rules.

I know you get the short end if the stick if you have one on you. I believe its ok to have one in your home.

I was at the Premier gun show and a seller with out the front knives called me over to take a look. He had several double edge out the front knives. I know out the front/switchblades are fine to buy and carry. But is he asking for a world of hurt selling double edged blades ? If you purchased one how would you go about getting it home :) lol if you cant carry one outside your home.

Here's the short story. A push dagger is an illegal knife. Illegal knives are not illegal to own. Generally speaking it is an offense to carry an illegal knife. IANAL, YMMV, ETC. Refer to Texas Penal Code for more info and refer to your attorney for clarification.

Illegal knives are not illegal to sell and they can still be lawfully carried in many circumstances. For example, if you have an LTC and are carrying a handgun you may carry an illegal knife. Or in your vehicle, etc...

You might also get arrested and have to spend alot of money to get out even if it's legal...

Before CHL's, back in the 70s and 80s, I often wondered how to get my brand new pistol home from the LGS legally.

    Legal to purchase.
"Legal to carry" or not is up to the po-po when they see it.
If Officer Dontlikeyou doesn't like you that day you get to wear shiny bracelets.
If he thinks it's cool, you don't get to wear the shiny bracelets.
You may win in court later but it will cost mucho dinero to get there.
Me thinks why bother? Just carry a regular old folding single edge knife.
Double edge knives suck as tools anyway.
Don't go running around all drunk ninja like and the po-po will leave you alone.
I see people all the time wearing sheath knives.
