Dove hunting - SOUTH ZONE

Friday (9/18/09) is opening day for the South Zone of dove season. Is anyone planning on going? I'm going on our annual Beeville trip. I sure hope we have better luck than we did in the Central zone.

Good luck. I wasn't hunting them.......but I didn't see any doves in the Uvalde area a week ago. They have been in a devastating drought, so no water. However, over the last week it has rained several inches down there.

Heading to Del Rio Friday. Deer lease work weekend but I think we are going to try to shoot some birds. We have water on our place so hopefully.....

I hunted in Charlotte today...All five of us got daily limit!!! The birds were flying and falling there!!!

A neighbor down by my property emailed me and told me there was a ton of doves trespassing...

Got back yesterday from a really good hunt. Lots of birds. Had a great time hanging around with my hunting buddies. Lots of good food, beer, jokes, etc. Even the weather wasn't too bad. Anyone else go this past weekend?

Had to work... Have today off since the woodworkers are slackasses, but not enough time to drive down to my property.

Well opening weekend was a flop.
Saw 9 birds got 3 shots off
Got 1 bird, hope with the cooler air will come a better flight
