Dressing up the RIA

It came with a nice set of black/gray VZ G10 grips but….. I like wood on 1911’s. This is an RIA Ultra FS in .40S&W with new solid Cocobolo diamond grips. I am happy with the transformation.

I was buying some mags from Springfield and noticed the sale heading on the banner. So I found them there. $15 plus $10 shipping. Good price for solid Coco.

Best 1911 I ever shot was a .40S&W built as a Limited-10 competition gun. Smooth as silk and you had to actively try to miss a A-zone. If I had a choice, I'd rather have a 1911 in .40S&W than .45ACP.....

I put checkered walnut grips on my RIA. I removed the RIA logo and took the massive ambi-safety off and swapped to a GI (short) guide rod and end cap too.
