    Custom molded for me.
Built at a local gun show and in my mailbox a few days later.

The foam plugs irritate my ear canal.

I have it. I use it at the indoor range and it works well. I took off the string from mine and just keep it in a pouch in my range bag. When I am shooting pistol, I use it with a pair of Howard Leight electronic muffs but when I switch to rifle, I just use it by itself. Just remember, it HAS to be set in perfectly and securely if it is the only protection you're using otherwise it won't work properly to reduce noise.

I took a survey at Shot Show with the Howard Leight vendors and they gave me a pair of their Impact Sport Electronic noise cancelling earmuffs.(in a camo pattern) They came with batteries and a cord to connect to any device with an audio jack.I wore them yesterday and they are Great. They fit well and don't press in on the sides of my head. My old compact folder earmuffs did that and it gave me a headache. They are slim,so they don't hit the stock of my rifle while I'm looking through the scope.

MICH Headset when I'm running comms, or Sordin Supreme Pro X when I'm not, both with a gel cup hygiene kit.

    I'm a mall ninja though...

I see you're having trouble when shooting rifles. I used to run an ACH headset, but I would have trouble with the extended battery compartments knocking the stock in certain shooting situations. That's when I went to the MICH.

This. They are low profile so they don't interfere with your cheek weld.
