Though my birthday is Monday the 24th, the wife gave me an early present this evening.

    https://targetvisioncam.com/collections/spotting-scope/products/targetvision-lr-2

I saw it at Xtreme Guns in Richmond the other day and she went back and got it. Pretty cool and Targetvision is a Texas company (Friendswood).

A couple weeks back, I bought myself a new AK47 underfolder, which finally shipped today

Looking forward to trying both out if the range isn't too soggy this weekend.

Got to try it out today, I am impressed. I was able to see very clearly and the app was easy to use. The only rounds that we a little tough to see were .22lr. That was more a function of the targets, I think, than the camera. I was able to see 5.56 on a different target clearly. I definitely would recommend the camera. Lucky I have a wife who indulges me. I guess it's fair, though. I bought her a Walther PPS M2 for her last birthday.

The AK ran fine, but I definitely need the red dot. My (soon to be) 53 year old eyes had a tough time with the rudimentary sights on the rifle, plus I think they were off a bit anyways. I grouped everything to the upper left. I'd tweak them, but the Hawke 12131 will be here Monday.

Wow! Nice gift! You really need to appreciate that lady. She's a keeper!

The Beaumont range has pit service at 600 yards, but you need someone to man the pits when you shoot. That's pretty impractical for a retired guy. Heck, everyone is working while I want to shoot!

The Baytown area range has a 400, 600 yard range but you need to walk down to the target to see the impact holes. What a bite that is.

That camera would work well in both situations. Good idea!

Yes, ironically, the cheap Gander Mountain white/orange sight-in target was clear. The black/white Dirty Bird 8" spattering target was very tough, but as I said, I've always had problems seeing the Dirty Bird targets, regardless if it's with a camera, scope, or what have you.
