I was disappointed with a Boker Kalashnikov. Did not hold an edge well at all. Maybe I just got one that was not heat treated properly.
Didn't carry that Boker for long, maybe a bit over a year. Never had much trouble with the edge on mine. Once again though, it was a serrated version, and that edge got used the most often.
beat me to it
I’m left handed and needed a knife that (1) had a reversible clip so I could carry it left handed, and (2) I could open one-handed.
Benchmade axis lock knives fit that bill perfectly. Fortunately, I bought all of mine used, and I bought them before Benchmade crapped the bed with that gun destruction business.
I know you said you wanted one with a clip, but I have been carrying a Swiss Army knife. It is the tinkerer I believe. Blade holds a edge pretty well. It isn’t tactical, but it is functional. I have carried one of these for 20 years. Around $30 or under.
This was the one I bought. Didn't like the Kalashnikov version. 440 steel is not the best steel but it is ok and I keep a Spyderco sharpner out just in case something needs a touch up.
Possibly the best blade I've ever carried.
This one has some good reviews

I like the Boker Kalashnikov auto knives. I have 3 of them in my knife/holster drawer. They are pretty decent knives for $35 or $40. But my EDC is a Ken Onion Blur.
