Mine too! But it was good clean fun! I remember some of those pasture keg parties, with a huge bonfire, five or six vehicles all tuned to the same rock radio station and the music was cranked up. You always made sure someone had some jumper cables because at least a couple would need to be jumped off after a few hours of that loud music!
Those were the days my friend, we thought they'd never end......

Owner is upset over the high cost of a battery replacement.

My father told me about this video. We were talking about EV's, and my father brought up a good point. What happens to all those EV's when they get a few years on them and end up at used car lots? What about battery replacements after the car is out of warranty?

Don't worry, you won't have to deal with battery replacements in the future because no one will actually own a car, and you will be happy.

Only important people will have a personal vehicle. Everyone else will rent a vehicle as needed through an authorized transportation provider. Provided you have sufficient carbon credits in your wallet of course.

The ship was abandoned when one of the cars being shipped battery caught fire , they could not extinguish it. Wow, what if it was your garage instead?

That happened to a mechanic we used to tow for. His security cameras caught footage - quite the damn scary thing. The car was on the lift, another car parked beneath it, the rest of the garage crammed with as many customer rides as possible (minimize break ins) - you see a flicker on the security cam under the hood of the culprit car, then in seconds WOOSH, whole fuckin' place is an inferno. IIRC there were a total of 10 or 12 cars destroyed or seriously damaged. Plus all the tech's power tools - thankfully it didn't spread to the other businesses in the building, but it took a year of remodelling before another shop could open there.

The mechanic in question went bankrupt, his insurance just wasn't enough to cover everything.

That’s probably going to start appearing on the questionnaires when we shop for home owners insurance. Do you own an electric car and do you park it in your garage or near your house. You will pay extra just as you would if you have a pool, trampoline or a dog on their list as being aggressive. See bull dog, pit bill, rotweiller, German shepherd or Doberman

Or if you bundle, the company will just use the info they already have. If it becomes actuarily significant, the whole pool of insureds could end up being affected.

This is one of those things where there may become a critical mass of risk overcomes an insurer’s desire make money and companies exit the market.

Seriously, who’s liable if an EV battery goes up in flames while charging in a garage and eventually collapses a high rise condo, killing X many people and destroying a $50+M building? Does the condo’s insurer subrogate to the auto policy….that limit will run out real quick, and there’s only so much the catastrophe re-insurers will accept because natural disasters are getting pretty expensive as is.
