Buttpeg made an attempt to explain why Texans should buy an ev. He stated the goals of CA and Washington to
replace gas powered vehicles, none of which showed any reason why a Texan should replace their vehicle with an ev.
He acknowledged that Texans drive greater distances than those in dense cities, however the range of an ev is limited.
The disadvantages of price and limited mobility make an ev a poor choice for those outside an urban environment.

My wife works at the Administration Building of a hospital. Today one of the mid level managers was caught charging her vehicle on a hospital outlet. The person is fortunate they don't work for me!

Was prolly an orange outlet too!

My gas powered car is paid for, don't drive a lot of miles, I'm 71. No way I'm buying an expensive EV, maybe the government will give me one.

I will be happy to buy an EV as soon as...
They are competitively priced without tax incentives.
They can be charged quickly and store energy like gas.
I can jump in and drive across country without spending more time charging or looking for charging than I do sleeping.
I can charge as easy as fill up with gas.
The infrastructure supports and supplies the energy needed.

A bonus will be easy charging with solar panels on the vehicle.

In other words not in my lifetime.

I would consider an EV for city driving but phuck if I will be forced into one.

Mature the tech organically and the free market market will bring them mainstream. Right now we're on a road to hell.

Electric vehicles do have a lot of advantages over gas powered vehicles. They are much less complex
BUNK. I've watched vids of volt/bolt and Tesla complete tear downs. Specialty (manuf) shop only!

That's because those are spyware laden gadgets, not vehicles. If they would build them with just a motor, battery, and motor controller they'd be dead simple.

Of course the same could be said of all modern vehicles. So much needless complication. Some government mandated, some intentional to frustrate ease of maintenance.
