    Greetings folks,

The name's J.J and I've been lurking for a short while so I figured I'd join and introduce myself.

I very recently separated from the NAVY after 11 years of great service. Figured it was time to move on and after the last 6 years living in the pseudo-socialist state of Hawaii I am properly ECSTATIC to be living amongst folks that really know what liberty is all about. I'm originally from North Carolina but I must say Texas (I'm in Dallas) is every bit as big and grand as I've always heard and the people here are justifiably proud.

I must say this weekend I'm properly excited as I will have the opportunity to enjoy my first Texas style gun show in Mesquite. No idea what to expect but it should be interesting.

Thank you for allowing me to grandstand for a moment and I look forward to great discussions and learn some things along the way.

    With Regards,
    Lynx Defense

When I was stationed in Hawaii, it drove me nuts after 6 months. All I wanted to do was drive from Beaumont to El Paso (a straight line) and see something other than perfect weather...

I live in California but was born in Texas, lived there for 4 years and have visited off and on over the years. It is evident to me the respect and generous nature of Texas folks. I really can't wait to retire and go home to be with my own people.

Welcome Aboard, from Dallas. I, spent about 4 1/2 years in San Diego, Commyfornia stationed on the USS Nimitz. I was liberated in Jan 2007. I was thinking about staying in the Navy, but when I asked them to put an Aircraft Carrier out of the Gulf of Mexico, they told me no...

Anyway, good luck at the gunshow...unfortunately, prices have skyrocketed, so the great deals just don't seem to be out there anymore.

    Again, welcome home.

Thank you for your service and welcome to the great state of Texas! I was stationed at Ft Bragg, NC for a couple years and I must say that NC is a great place...second to Texas of course!! LOL

    Welcome

I am retired Navy. I was originally from the Socialist State of California. I came to Texas in 1992 and have not looked back.

Wow, thanks for the open-arm welcome.

I do so appreciate it. Of course, wouldn't you know it, I get all set to attend my first TX gunshow Saturday morning and then the phone rings. It's the boss man saying we have some urgent work to do and, well, there went my weekend. Did not even get the chance to go on Sunday either. Oh, well looks like there will be plenty of other chances and I'm just thankful I still have a job what with the sky falling and all. lol

I keep hearing that the prices at the shows have shot through the roof. Too bad, but at least the shows have not been outlawed...yet!

I just hope this decision to separate from military service does not come back to bite me in the arse. Of course, all the respect in the world to those who did their 20+ and retired. Quite honestly I'd had enough of being a recipient of tax dollars and want to try my hand at producing tax dollars. I just hope I don't have to eat those words.

    Again, thanks all.

When I first seperated I didn't know how to act, without somebody telling me what to do. I got over it. Welcome Home, from Houston
