    Gunz are icky.
Its possible the safety is moving just enough to engage during recoil.
Not enough to fully reposition but enough to lock.
Try shooting the gun holding the safety down with your finger.

Several weeks ago I took the pistol to Dury's Gun Shop. One of the gunsmiths told me that someone had removed the mag safety. He put in a mag safety and checked mag safety cam connection lever into place to trip sear and that was it. I picked up my pistol 2 days ago and I took it to the ranger yesterday and fired 3 or 4 13rd mags through it and it functioned flawlessly. Problem solved, thanks to Dury's.

That's odd but glad your gun is fixed. I removed the mag disconnect on mine and never had a issue.

I don't know. When I took the gun to the gunsmith, he removed the slide. He noticed on the receiver just above the trigger group a vertical medal plunger thing. I don't know what it is called but it was very loose. I told him to order the mag safety parts because I wanted pistol back in original form.
