Facebook alternative

With Facebook (maybe Fakebook is more accurate) ignoring the 1st amendment, catering to the left and banning the right, they have become too discriminating for me.
I’ve found some Facebook alternatives, such as; MeWe, Mastodon, Diaspora, Minds, and Sociall. Does any TGT members have experience with any of these to recommend?

This forum is the closest thing I get to social media so no personal experience with any of this. Have you tried parler? I think its suppose to be some sort of alternative to facebook

I still do Facebook, but I stopped talking about anything political many years ago. People that really know me, know what I think, or my opinions. I also "weeded" out my friends list years ago too.

I also don't frequent it as much anymore either. Maybe once a month or so.

TGT and a few other forums that are based on my other hobbies.

I also just sign up to IG last month. I get to interact with family, friends and follow only who I want, so I don't have to see a bunch of BS.

I was on Facebook for over 10 years but after they began censoring posts, I said ‘Fu-k this’!! Big tech’s & mainstream media’s blatant censorship in this election is criminal. Dropped my account a few months ago and I don’t miss shit. I enjoy this forum now.

Why assume people are missing something. I use it mainly to stay in touch with family and friends that don't live close, or out of state that I'm not able to see as much.

Deactivated Facebook this morning. Their algorithms control what you see and now with the way they appear to be censoring or “fact checking” it was time to leave. Like others I will use forums like this and Reddit for now.

I’ve never been on Facebook. Only TGT, tractors & smoking (as in BBQ) forums.

Twitter’s It’s a total dumpster fire but news flows quickly on that platform and I like reading news & current events.

Reading the comments on Twitter will destroy what little faith one may have had in the future of humanity. The news feed from the local Constable Precinct and Sheriff’s office is informative though.

I am on MeWe as an alternative to FB. Unless your friends move over too it’s pretty empty. Also relatively little news available so far. Parler is the Twitter proxy.
MeWe seems to have a lot of gun groups FWIW.
