I'm amazed that Farcebook, with its headquarters in the Peoples' Socialist Яepublik of Kalifornia, actually admitted that First AND Second Amendment rights would not be infringed on that service.

Well, FB not being the government can't infringe on Constitutional rights, but you know that.

FB sucks. I'd imagine this is just a business decision, it would cost them a lot of money to constantly scrub facebook of 2A content. Eventually they will try it, same with google and the web hosts.

I fully anticipate the gun culture to be driven underground and marginalized if we can't solidify and and strengthen our rights and get them to be seen as mainstream and legitimate.

This is where I am an old fuddy duddy as to caring about what FB allows or doesn't allow. I don't put a foot print there and although it may be short sighted on my part I could give a rats ass as to what they allow or don't allow.
To me FB is a fools game.

I completely understand the sentiments of not wanting to waste one's live on social media. Believe me I understand that. That being said, consider this. The past two elections and literally the entire reason Obama is in office is because his campaign absolutely killed everyone else' on social media. Much of the younger generations flocked in droves to him because of that. McCain's campaigns were a complete joke when it came to social media. Through catering to that stuff and using some spammy and unethical techniques to fake the appearance of massive support, Obama won the presidency twice in a row. I think that says all we need to know about how powerful different types of media can be when utilized to their fullest. One funny thing to note is that the official Obama Twitter account, when I ran it through a program that checks the legitimacy of it, shows that over ~50%, IIRC, of the followers are fake spam accounts (something like 10+ MILLION).

I slightly disagree with "entire"; there was an awful lot of "anybody but Bush" in the air when he was first elected and that sentiment helped him. (Yes, I know that's irrational.)

However, that's just a quibble. Clearly, the mastery of social media and especially the information gleaned from it put the guy over the top. GOP efforts in that arena were laughable. As far as I can tell, they still are.
