Five episodes in right now and it is way better than expected. My kids played the games and lore is mostly different for film making constraints it appears.

The lore isn’t too far off, it’s actually pretty close. A few people are really grinding on a couple details but overall it isn’t straying much.

That said, it doesn’t follow the games. It’s set on completely different characters. The games are the same way, each one introducing new characters.

I agree the ghoul is the best character in the show. The girl gets better as the show moves forward and is much better than I expected. First few episodes she’s pretty shallow, but grows along the way (which is good IMO).

Overall I thought Maximus was weakest character wise. He’s just a little bit too brainless. Funny at times, but could have been written better.

The ending two episodes really pushed the series from good to great. They have opened a lot of door for season two. And with a blatant Easter Egg.

I have seen references to season two being already renewed by Amazon.

I watched the series about a week ago. It kept my interest, but I had to remind myself that it was adapted from a video game. A lot of the humor seemed a bit predictable and corny.

I have not played the game...and may not since many tell me it is close to the game...

Some of the zany stuff was funny and amusing, but without a stronger story and with so many sidetracks, I did not find it particularly interesting or exciting. Maybe Season 2 will be better now that it used Season 1 to attract and hold its Fallout gamer fan base.
