My favorite would be the Smith/Wesson Model of 1950 38/44 Heavy Duty. Just a big .38 Special. Here’s some of my nickeled ones.

I have a nice collection of handguns - a few higher end 1911 types (Ed Brown, Nighthawk, Guncrafter Ind, STI) and some middle of the road semi-autos (Sig, Browning HP, Spriger TRP), some C&Rs that I love (P06 & P08 Lugers, E. German and Bulgarian Makarovs), a few revolvers (Ruger LCR, S&W 686+ and others), a gaggle of Glocks and miscellaneous others.....but

the 1 handgun that is my absolute favorite to shoot is my Coonan Classic semi-auto - .357mag - 5" barrel - there's "just something" about shooting .357 thru a handgun that makes paper "flutter" at 12 yards

I "had" a Classic and a Compact previously but the stainless finish and wood grip panels were 2nd rate, so I sold 'em - but then Coonan came out with a black duracoat finish and black aluminum grip panels so I bought one and am very happy with it

(I guess that Coonan is now out of business - too bad.....)

This one is growing on me...Colt MK4 series 70 (an older one). Shoots to point of aim, totally reliable, nice factory trigger and accurate. I replaced the collet bushing and put some nice Hogue double diamond stocks on it. Simple is good.
