Glad she is out of office, but her replacement probably will not be any better. It is Cali, after all.
Here is a nightmare scenario: Governor Newsom appoints himself as Senator and resigns his seat as governor. He then begins his campaign for President as a sitting US Senator and the Demos nominate him for their candidate for President in 2024 elections. He picks Michele Obama as VP.

There are many nightmares in politics right now. The stakes are huge.

I agree with you and fully expect G. Newsom to become the Democrats nominee. I see it playing out though after the primaries as Joe shows signs of being able to hold on at least that long. Joe can play dutiful father protecting Hunter for several more months. My version of that nightmare plays without Gavin needing to sully himself with primary work and the associated extreme positions that requires, if it plays this way.

Either Kamala Harris takes Feinstein's seat and uses that for political momentum galore OR she goes down with the Biden Corruption Ship. There is plenty of mess for her to step in if she tries to stay and steer through the maelstrom. Ms. Harris follows hints from handlers poorly enough that successful navigation may be outside her skill set. Watch for that fireworks show to be in full swing just as primaries close and the Republicans are trying to build momentum with their convention.

The "Biden Show" will dilute the Republican National Convention as a news item for many cycles. The current Republican spread suggests the Trump Core will be joyously singing that week. Others will be hoping The Donald's plan to recover and reclaim the electoral votes of Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, Nevada, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin actually works.

Then as Biden is moved out to save the Democrat Party Gavin with his new friend Gretchen rides in as a pair of new fresh faces untainted by long exposure to Biden corruption and DC politics. The Newsom and Whitmer ticket presents as fresh, young, and with great hair. That horror show is my nightmare.

Yours will likely be a bit different. We are possibly taking the tread from the end of one nightmare to the beginning of all to many more.

Michelle Obama has voiced next to no interest in being a public face over the years. Her reluctance is most likely many points of her favorability. Campaigning post Biden will be hard work as there will be much splatter to clean. Ms. Obama has a pretty comfortable niche today--but her voice on the political stage gives me bad dreams.

Kamala gave up her Senate seat to take the VP position. You may have missed her last two or three interviews in which she is detemrined that She will be the Demo replacement to Biden. She would have to resign as VP to take a Senate seat, something she is not going to do. A demotion not only in status, but she would then give up her position and highlights to vote in breaking ties in the Senate for the next year.

Brisket goes on the smoker at noon.

    Beer is icing down.

    Weekend of celebration ahead.

Another flat just went on the smoker...

Had more folks show up than expected.

It's been a good dry run. Clearly, I'll need more brisket and beer when that piece of shit Lon Horiuchi finally deprives the world of his company.

That event would definitely be enough to get me out of the house. I may not be able to make it to your place but I'm gonna find some like- minded folks, somewhere, and celebrate.

Here is what Feinstein left behind: - A $60 million private jet - A $21 million San Francisco mansion - A $7.4 million Washington D.C. home - A $5 million Hawaii home - $70 million in cash in the bank Experts estimate her personal net worth was over $70M.

Flags will fly at half staff in China in her memory.

Back in her prime, Feinstein, overseeing and chairing various military construction committees, would award well over a billion in contracts to a couple of companies run by her husband Richard Blum, who owned enough stock to have a controlling interest. Same arrangement when she was involved in awarding U.S. Postal real estate leasing contracts to a company also run by her husband. And I'm sure there were other "arrangements".

We, as taxpayers, completely funded the extravagant lifestyle of the Feinsteins. :banghead:

The conspiracy theory rumor (generated by my own deranged mind) is Newsom will give himself the seat so he will have a war chest to run for President in 2028.

ETA, her death should have happened soon after conception.
No, he sold it to the 2 witches who financed Kamala. Bet he has more cash than Bezos.
