Just moved to the Georgetown area and am looking for some good local gun shops. I'd also like to find one that'll do a tranfer for a 'reasonable' fee. I'm not trying to avoid buying locally, but I travel a lot and when I find a good handgun deal out-of-state, I'd like a way to get it home.

    Suggestions?

Thanks for the speedy reply. However, It looks as if my "Escapees" address filters grabbed it. I've started having some problems with that provider and am in the process of dumping them.

Meanwhile, I've changed my settings here to a new address and I'd appreciate it if you'd re-send it. I apologize for being a problem child.

Steve Ou of Spreadfire Arms has an appointment only premises in NW Austin off Anderson Mill and 183 (about 300 yards from the asshats at Heritage Firearms, actually). Steve charges $10 for a standard transfer, and $10+ actual shipping for shipping a pistol via USPS with a form 1508. He also does NFA transfers for $50 and will offer a discount if you are transferring multiple receivers, etc in a single order.

Thanks again for all the great references. As soon as we get a bit more settled, I'll swing by The Cutting Edge to check them out.
