I finally traded my G21SF for a G22. The guy I traded with was actually looking for a 10mm, but he finally gave in. After a three hour drive there, a stop to eat, and another three hour drive back, I couldnt wait to get this thing on the range.

First I stopped at Cabela's in Ft. Worth and tried finding some plinking ammo. Well, nothing of that sort on the shelves, but man, they had every single SD round I could think of minus the LEO ammo. Well, he gave me some Gold Dots, and a full mag of FMJs, but I needed to shoot this thing. So I settled on a 100 round box of Remington JHP. It was the only thing I could find in that size, but luckily, Dad bought them and said it was an early birthday present, but that really sucks, because I dont have a birthday until next May. Shayte!

By the time I got home it was 20:30, and time to start getting ready for bed.

So, I'm still anxious to shoot this thing, and remembered, I have a job interview at 10:30. I get up, take the kids to school, and come back home to get ready and my wife tells me that she has to run into town as well and that she will drive me there. I go to the interview, but didnt look promising, the guy couldnt even look me in the eye while shaking my hand. I hate that crap! **pet peeve** So we head over to my wife's appointment, and by this time, its already 12:30. :banghead:

Then after that, she decideds, without talking to me, that we're going to go eat lunch. So, the whole time I am sitting there, all I can think about is flying copper and lead, smelling burnt gunpowder and feeling recoil. The conversation was interesting, the meal delicious, but I wanted what I wanted. To shoot...

We finally leave the resturant, and its 14:30... Yeah, by this time, I can tell that she is doing this on purpose. You would have to know my wife and I, we do this to each other all of the time. It makes for a interesting and great marriage...

We go and get the kids from school, and finally, FINALLY, time to get to the range. Then my wife asks me to change out her car stereo for another one that I had in the shed. Grrrrrrrr!!!:332: I told her to do it herself, and she did. I cant leave in my car because we siphoned all the gas out of it to run in her car, so I am still stuck. Sheeeesh!

17:30 rolls around, she is buttoning up the last of the connections on the stereo, and putting the dash back on. Test the tunes, and we're rocking and rolling!!! First track on, Stairway To Heaven. Yeah buddy!

We get out to the range and I realize, I forgot my key and badge. Back to the house. I get my key, stop in mid stride and think, hey, I got SD ammo to test. So I gather up some empty milk jugs, fill them, grab my denim catch box and head out there.

We get there, I set up my jugs and shoot a 180 gr PDX1 and a 180 gr Gold Dot, recover them and start filling up the mags. My wife picks up my gun, and just starts shooting. She goes through three mags before I realize that she just shot almost half my ammo. At first I was pissed, but then realized, you know what, I dont get to spend much alone time with my wife. I filled the mags up again, and let her keep on shooting. She went through six full mags before I got to shoot one full one.

So, yes, I got to shoot my new to me gun, but not as many rounds as I would've liked. But I had some great company, alot of laughs, and even though she shot all of my damned ammo, I still love that bitty.

The stereo part was good but what about the.....we siphoned all the gas out of mine......part? Having to choose between buying ammo for a new gun or gas for the car really sucks!;)

Good story. Looks like you'll need a lot more ammo if you bring her along next time..

Yeah, she is pretty handy around the house. I asked her to help me dress a deer once, and I went inside the house for only 15 minutes and when I came back outside, she already had it skinned and was hacking off quarters, but at least she left me the backstrap to cut off. :happy0001:

I got to go out today with my dad and I only had a box of 50 but all got shot. They all shot high left, but it looks like the sight has been drifted over to the left quite a bit. The other thing was, it kept locking up the slide, but a quick look and it seems that when someone put the extended slide release on, of course, they put the pins in in the wrong order. A quick couple pin pushes and all was taken care of. I'm suprised it didnt show up yesterday when she was shooting but I am thinking that she was resting her thumb on the slide stop, and I am thinking I am right because it wasnt locking open on the last round. DUH!

But other than that, it shot well, grouping was nice, about 4-5" off hand at 15 yards, but I bet the pistol is a helluva lot more accurate than I am. Plus it was windy and I was getting blown all over the place, almost to the point of not being able to enjoy shooting.

But we did some 300 yard shooting as well with the rifles, and that was fun, a little friendly competition between the old man and me. Shooting clays at 300 yards in high wind is fun, even if you dont hit them! Plus, someone put some gas cylinders out there at 100 yards for some gong action, and trying to hit them with his AK and my SKS. Did fairly well, but it was just something to shoot at, and we werent keeping score, just having a ball.

And of course, if you havent noticed, I havent said a damned thing about the wife until now. She was in town trying to fill RXs for the kids, and as a matter of fact, is still there and has been since 13:45. :lolz: thats what she gets for shooting all of my ammo...
