    Since the yellow sheets are not destroyed and retained for the atf we are registering our firearms everytime we do a yellow sheet. The yellow sheet has all our information on it as well the the serial number and type of firearms being purchased.

    4473s only have to be retained for 20 years.

    In Texas, you do not have to report your personal gun sales to the governement - THAT would be registration.

    The 4473 is only an indicator that you purchased a gun on a certain date - it has nothing at all to do with what you did with it from the second you left the purchase point.
