A monster cow. Thermal hunting at night. Guy I was hunting with got his bull last night. Running out of time I saw this huge cow ( 400 lbs ish) and took the shot. She took zero steps and went down hard.
    I am stoked !

Used to work for a company that had a deer lease where there were lots of Nilgai. One of our customers shot one and the camp cook cut out some steaks for us to try. Excellent meat!! Those critters are hard to hunt. They have excellent eyesight.
They are even hard to hunt when you cheat, lol( night nine with thermal) but a shit ton of fun to put the stalk on them.
    I will do this again.

Congratulations on getting it done. I wasn’t aware you could hunt them at night.

Nilgai are definitely on my bucket list to hunt. If I ever get around to it I think I’d use my dads old .338 win mag.

Let us know how they taste. I’d like to do that hunt. Saw an episode of Meateater where they hunted them.

What are you doing with the head?
