    Hey there heathens!

Me and a buddy are looking for some places to do a little fishing....not looking for anything fancy but easily accessible would be nice (no boats or kayaks)! Any little ponds or anything out there that are good for an afternoon of reel therapy?

Brushy Creek Park. City park off 2222.
Just about anywhere along Brushy Creek where you can get access to it. There are several places from Leander to downtown Round Rock.

    Thank you sir!

We are gonna hit red bud isle on Thursday just to get started (we both live in south Austin so it's close for after work!)

And I drive all day for work so I'm on the lookout for ponds!

Your profile still says Leander, TX.

I've heard Onion Creek Park has some spots along Onion Creek that do well but I've never been out there.

If you het that far north, Blue Hole or the City Park in Georgetown. Berry Creek Park just off the loop north of Georgetown has some monster Bluegill and some nice bass too but is catch and release only. Still fun.

North is definitely doable for when I get off early or on the weekends!

Gotta see if I can find all my fishing gear....used to have just about everything under the sun!

A lot has to do with what you want to catch. A moderate action ultralight and some Bluegills and I am a happy camper. Or a 4 weight fly rod if that works and I know even more places.

If anything will do, bluegills are usually pretty easy to catch around marinas and boat docs.

Are become friends with someone who has a stocked tank.

What you use to catch bluegills? I always used meal worms as a kid!

I've had good luck in the tank using small lures or bits of nightcrawlers.

Crickets were always productive on bluegill and goggleye for us.

    Crush, kill, mangle, maim, destroy.

What do you normally fish for at city park? Drive by it almost every day but haven't had a chance to stop and check it out yet!
