Alright guys... since y'all seem pretty cool, I'll let cha in on a little secret. Max Starke dam in Marble falls. Stripers, hybrids, and whites run along the dam walls chasing massive black clouds of shad. Theres blue cat, flat heads, blue gill, and large mouth as well.Bring silver spoons without the white tail (just a silver slab), a 5 gal bucket, a cast net, and a long stringer. Plus it's a super nice place to just relax; when you're not constantly throwing fish over your shoulder...

Dang guys, I miss hiking and fishing central tx. I used to go after spotted bass and rio grande perch with my ultra light. I still have family in Cedar Park. Anyone know of good spots for the Texas Blue Cichlids?

Try a large bobber with 1 1/8 ounce split shot 1/12 feet from the bobber with a long barbed bait hook 6" from the split shot. And a perch with the dorsal fin and tail cut off. Works every time
It's the heat. Night fishing time. Lake Bastrop North Shore is good at night but it's slot fishing.
