I recall way back, seeing quite a few "fixed power" scope sights, most of 4X or less. Popular were 2X, 2.5X through 4X.

Zeiss had some really nice ones. Redfield & Weaver, too.

Does anyone here have info own where to find one now ?

SWFA makes some fine fixed power rifle scopes.
I'm using a couple of them in 12× out to 600+ yds.
    They're consistent and reliable.

    Thanks

I was seeking something more "wide angle" at 2X - 3.5 or, max 4X.

I once saw an old Zeiss 2.5 fixed which was really nice.

This is closest I've seen: Burris UPC #: 000381002297

Low magnification, wide FOV, hard to beat an acog, or any of the other prism optics, like primary arms

What gun is this going on?

I’ve got 2 of the SWFA scopes. A Fixed 10X and fixed 16X.

The 10X is about as Jack of all trades as I could ever want and I’ve used it on everything from .17 HMR to .50 BMG.

The 16X…it’s too much magnification for the glass quality and objective size. Fine on a bright sunny day, but really suffers otherwise. I’d buy another 10X in a heartbeat.

I believe there is an HD line of the fixed power scopes. Haven’t tried them but imagine they remove any complaint one might find with the standard line. Only thing I can think of is the glass isn’t amazing.

I gotta go with ACOG. It is difficult to find anything better. They seem to hold their value well too. I have a few, and I never had a complaint except from folks that need a little more magnification. For them I use a Vortex Strike Eagle, As close to 1x as you can get, with reach out and touch someone 8X.

The Strike Eagle 1x6 is on my Xmas list for my battle AR. It has a cheap Bushnell red dot that is way over due for a replacement. I might go with the 1x8

Are you wanting a fixed low power or will you consider a 1-4x or 1-6x? Your options go way up in that market.
I agree that an ACOG is hard to beat for 4x or 6x.

SWFA scopes are built like tanks. Their lowest power fixed is 6x. I own a 10x and a 3-15x and a HD 1-6x. The HD glass Is the same as the HD 10x and HD 3-9x. It's a definate upgrade in glass quality

Like a "Scout Rifle". Carbine would be used at ranges 125M and lower. I'm asking, b/c I'm no "expert" on this, by-far.
You first need to figure out which eye relief you need. Regular, scout (extended eye relief), and handgun are all different.

Something a bit different...I also like a fixed-power scope for some applications, and I'm looking at this SIG for a pistol caliber carbine.
A lighted horseshoe reticle in either 3x or 5x....I'm currently using a red dot on the .45 ACP carbine, but I crave magnification....
