What does that have to do with anything?

General Milley pushes back on G.O.P. accusations of a ‘woke’ military.

“I want to understand white rage, and I’m white,” General Mark A. Milley, the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, told a Republican congressman who objected to the teaching of “critical race theory.”

It’s woke bullshit from the top being pushed down to all branches

Still don’t get it. Fired commander isn’t white.

zipperitis typically only results in the enlisted member being kicked out, officers are/were normally allowed to retire at rank. Saw that happen more than a few times while I was in.

Now, if he was with a General officers wife/daughter, then all bets are off...

In today's day and age though, he probably ran afoul of of the woke crowd and had the audacity to yell at and/or order people to do their jobs...

    Two months tho?

A guy could hardly know where they keep the coffee pot in two months.

Yeah. These are small communities and even though the selection process is fairly rigorous, figuratively a guy can step on his dick at any point in time. Usually there’s hard evidence to back it up, too and .mil doesn’t want to air dirty laundry.

The military is shedding a LOT of 05/06 ranks. The navy has had a spate of ship captains reassigned out of their jobs, and the Air Force is shedding squadron and wing commanders at an alarming rate. And a lot of it is bound to be due to politics.

One of my college friends was the commander of the training wing down at Laughlin. A female pilot was given a callsign some might consider crass (I'm not even sure what it was), and some goody two-shoes chose to be offended on her behalf. Cost my buddy his job and any chance of a promotion, so he had to retire as a colonel instead of continuing his career. Also took down his vice commander and the squadron commander. Didn't matter that the pilot in question wasn't offended, or that the wing's performance was otherwise exemplary.

My Uncle Frank was a sergeant in WWII. We were talking once about the ranks of his brothers (several made Lt. Col.) and he told me that he figured he outranked them. I asked how he figured that. He said, "I got way more promotions than they did. Yeah, I mustered out as a sergeant, but I made that rank at least 12 times, maybe 15. They'd promote me and then some 90 day wonder lieutenant would show up and start barking orders and I'd tell him why he was wrong and was gonna get us all killed, and I'd get busted down to private. Then they'd need someone to get things done and I'd get promoted again."

Then he said something profound: "You know, the Army has their way of doing things and they really don't appreciate anyone telling them that they're wrong."

Some things about the military don't change.

I'm tracking a discussion on this on a USAF forum I'm on, if I hear anything juicy I will let everyone know; but usually these things are kept quiet...
