Well today had to go to Blessing for some work, coming back thru El Campo. I have not been to my favorite LGS in while, so I had a few minutes. I found an absolutely beautiful 9422 on the rack. I had to put it on lay-a-way.

For anyone looking, Ronnie has a "few" very pretty Colt SAA, I need to win the lotto so I can take them off of his hands... sigh

    Gunz are icky.
The 94-22 is a wonderful little rifle.
    really fun gun to shoot.
Please post pics when you get it.

Years ago I had the curved lever/pistol grip version. Think it was called Classic version.
Like a doofuss I sold it. Regretted it ever since.

If anyone here has the time to go to R&M in El Campo go take a look. I saw so many used items for really nice prices today. I am not an owner or anything, I have known the owner since I was a teen. He has some of the really nice 10-22 with the "carved" stocks, damn I wish I had more funds.

At Moonpie, when I retrieve this little gem I will post pics. I am hoping to get a chance and put some other items I saw on law-a-way as well. I saw a S&W 66-2 that caught my attention.

The 9422 is one of the quintessential "they don't make them like they used to" guns. I'd imagine they would be pretty expensive if they were made today (hence why Winchester discontinued them). I found a 98% 9422M that was reasonably priced last year. I walked out with it. They're beautiful rifles. Congrats on yours. win9422.jpg

Ok here are the pics, I finished early today and went and got her out of the shop and into my hands. Serial number appears to date between 1990-1991.

She is missing the hood, but I would have removed that anyway, It ruins my accuracy, and there are a couple of minor blemishes on one side. But overall very pleasing.

While I was there I put this on lay-a-way.

Hopefully find time soon! I have a Winchester 30-30 sportster I bought last summer, no love yet, a Ruger Vaquero (old model) in 45 Colt and now this gem to take out for some action. Hell I have a CZ 22 trainer for 5 or 6 yrs, still haven't taken it out and a couple of Henry's .357 and .44 Magnums that have never seen action. I just keep acquiring, I am a firearm HOARDER!!!!

I want to make one of the meets, but it seems something always gets in the way.

There is a private one, I think it is $840 per year.

There is Appelt's Hill Gun Club near Halletsville, private also. Used to be a member, YEAR'S ago. I keep thinking about rejoining, but I do not know that many people in the area. Need to know 5 as references. I used to know the President of the club.

I just need to get off my ass and do the paperwork.

My old 9422 is one of the Boy Scout Commemorative models, and it's a beaut. Hey, I love my Henry rimfires, but there's not a finer lever-action .22 made that's nicer than the 9422--IMHO. Congrats on your purchase!
