    one thing that was common in all three cases --all the coyotes were seen running to or standing around the creek.

    Yep, coyotes use creeks, bayous and, in urban areas like Houston, railroad ROW's to extend their hunting grounds. Most of our local sightings are along/next to the railroad tracks.

    You left out sewer drains. At least the ones in my neighborhood do.

    Unusual for one to attack humans. I did read a article about them cross breeding with red wolves. Wonder if that will be the case here.

    Most of the coyotes crossing with wolves has generally been limited to southeast Canada from what I’ve read. Usually where the two species occupy the same region, the wolves try to kill off the coyotes since they’re viewed as competing for the same resources.
