    Same reason I wouldn't bow to the Queen or stand for Mexico's or Canada's anthem. I stand for my nation's flag alone. I don't expect and don't think a foreign national should be expected to "render honors" to a flag or symbol of another country, but you go right ahead... View attachment 170936

    I guess my military experience was different from yours. I’ll go with what I learned during those years: “When the national anthem is played and the national flag is displayed all shall salute as specified in paragraph 216. holding the salute through the last note of the national anthem. When the national anthem is played and the national flag is not displayed, all shall face the music and salute as specified in paragraph 216. holding the salute through the last note of the national anthem.
    The same mark of respect, as specified above, prescribed for the national anthem of the United States, shall be shown during the playing of a foreign national anthem.”
