No way that guy was lifting that much weight.
On a different note, when I lived in Azerbaijan, I was the biggest guy in the gym and no one would spot me. I think they were scared of the big, bald white guy.
I had to improvise on equipment to do my workout. They didn’t have a proper squat rack. I used a Roman chair to support my weight bar, and then used two benches with weights stacked up to catch the weight of I had to bail.
On the bench, after a roll of shame or two, I started just leaving the collars off and could dump from side to side.
