I had a CRAIG 8 Track recorder so I could buy the vinyl album and record it to 8 Track.
When the tape got 'eaten' by the player, I just recorded another 8 Track Tape!! (still have all the albums)

I had a MUNTZ 8 track that would also play 4 track. Still have some 8 track tapes.

I did the same with vinyl!

I’d buy records, record them to a chrome or metal cassette, then put the album away for safekeeping.

Unlike you, I kick myself for ditching most of my vinyl when CD’s came out…
