The ones at Blockbuster when it was a giant corporation, or the ones running that last store in Bend? Arrogance was the downfall of Blockbuster as a chain.

Yes indeed. It permeated their corporate management. I bumped into the national risk manager at a CLE seminar a few years after the collapse. He came up and acted like he was my long-lost friend. In short, he got a full serving of cold shoulder.
