Somebody with more esoteric auto knowledge help me out, please.

The more I look at that modified Corvette the more I think I've seen something like it from a legit maker. The first thing that came to mind was the Lamborghini Espada but it doesn't actually get taller in the rear storage area. So that's not right.

But I could swear I've seen a car or two (Italian? French? Japanese micro?) that's basically the front half of a two-seat sports car grafted to the back half of a cargo wagon. Am I hallucinating a memory or can anybody else remember such a thing?

I've seen internet pictures of a Corvette similarly done, but it was properly finished, you are not mistaken.

I don't think so. Those had a down-sloped hatch. I'm thinking of something that had a back half that was ridiculously oversized compared to the front half. Well, something other than a girl I once dated...
