Not far from the truth. I had a cat that was my little buddy, she followed me everywhere, supervised everything I did. When I got married she almost completely ignored my wife (who said the cat made her feel like "the other woman"). I went on a deployment for a few months, when I got back the cat sat on the other side of the room and looked slightly annoyed and confused. "What? I thought you left me? I thought you were dead? All this time you were vacationing in the Middle East in summertime? What genius. hmmph." But once she processed the fact that I was back, she glued herself to me again and it was basically full time head scritches and belly rubs.
