Fritos or cornbread with cheese and onion in my family.Saltines preferably oyster crackers to suck up the orange grease is the I was taught to eat chile. Sour cream, cheese, corn chips or Fritos, chopped white onion & cilantrozz or fried eggs on top all happened in Texas. Oh I forgot corn bread.
This was a Mom thing to stretch the batch to feed a bunch of hungry kids.Same here. Beans and macaroni were always in chili when I was a kid.
