DC is great for powering loads like elevator motors , greater starting torque.

Tesla cars are DC driven using a motor winding three phase, but are still DC power because the rotors is segmented with permanent magnets

This is probably my ignorance but how can you have multi-phase DC? I thought the "phase" part required the wave effect of AC.

Only 1 on your ignore list? Those are rookie numbers.

    Just one guy? eta: ninjaed.

Most of you guys are good fun, only found one lefty troll

Ignore lists are for leftist snowflakes.

I'm perfectly happy to see perspectives from people I disagree with, this isn't a lefty censorship thing. The one person I ignore is only here to start s#$^ not bring up alternative views for discussion in good faith, trolls like him deserve the ignore. They just want the reaction to bring some level of interest to their insignificant lives and if we all ignore him he'll just be screaming angrily into the void

    I ignore your ignore list.

Did you say something? I wasn't listening :p

Think of it as an AC motor and a DC motor having a love child. A brushless DC motor has permanent magnets mounted on the rotor and multiple sets of windings in the housing. Power is supplied to the windings in a sequence of pulses and polarity (positive or negative) to to create torque.
