Anyone else seeing panic buying for gasoline? My wife was in town this morning and didn't notice anything unusual. My Son got off work at 4:00pm this afternoon and said cars were lined up at some stations, others had the yellow "out of gas" bags on the pumps, and one place had Georgetown PD controlling the flow of vehicles.
    WTF? Reminds me of 1973.

The state railroad commissioner says there is no shortage, but I think people have created one by panic buying.

Yeah just posted about it in another thread lol

Wife went to a station this morning and waited in line for 20 mins.

I spent 45 mins this afternoon doing the same.

    Lots of stations are out.

Yep. Run on gas in north Dallas as well. Lot of stations are out of gas too. But if sitting in line for gas is my only problem from this storm, then I count myself lucky.

No shortage, just a run. People are panic buying faster than stations can re-fill. But their is plenty of supply, stations will be re-filled overnight.

Stupid Media, we turned back 10,000 of fuel due to them over loading tanker. So we will get a smaller load in morning. A lot of drivers were hoping for a slow weekend and time off as they already plan on labor day fuel. Dumb ass people.

Not quite overnight, at least in these parts. Here, delivery drivers start getting to the distribution lot around 5 am to load for delivery, so in the morning is when it will happen. I'd guess many stations won't see fuel until after rush hour is over.

QuickTrip guy was on TV today saying they would respond with 24/7 deliveries, hence my reasoning. We will see. He also suggested they might close 1/2 stations, which would guarantee the other 1/2 will not run out.

I had one lady accuse me of trying to calm the rush so I could go fill up.

Sorry bitch. I don't have to "get" prepared because I am prepared.

Local station in Waco was promoting the "gas shortage" theme as well. All it takes is a ten minute phone to verify facts. Yet, this is also the station that says it will "give you both sides of the story. With all the facts." Must be a ratings week.

Watching CNN at a restaurant over dinner.

They had me convinced that the offline refineries are what's causing the shortage.

That and presumably Russians, sound was muted LOL

I'll put this pic here too so we can all hate this guy. Not to mention how unsafe this is.
