GasBuddy shows the highest price in LA now is $2.73.

He said it was at this station.
Pic metadata shows he took the pic today.
That’s about as far as my investigative talents (or lack thereof) can take it.

CA gas taxes are close to $1 / gallon.

Plus there’s a 28 cent “mystery” charge that lawmakers are trying to figure out...yes, they are charging people for this and they state they don’t know why.

Plus another 11 cents at the refinery level, which obviously gets passed along to customers. But since it’s targets at evil Big Oil, it doesn’t get counted as a pump tax.

At one point during the recession, I was paying over $5/gallon for diesel, and my truck had a 34-gallon tank.

$150 fillips were no bueno, and I was close to installing a 100-gallon transfer tank and driving to get cheap diesel in Mexico.

Thought we could post prices today. $3.10 at Murphy's. Brother in upstate NY paid $4.00

Since I posted this price it's now $3.20, in the matter of hours.

Two days ago, was $3.50 at my local convenience store, the only gas for 30 miles... That's usually been 10 - 20 cents more than Hondo or Uvalde.

It's not going to get better, sad because it doesn't have to be like that.
I'm fortunate that I don't have to travel much... last year was ~6000mi, this year should be no more than 5000mi. My truck gets 20mi/gal. I won't like $6/gal, but it probably won't destroy me like it will some here... Of course, it will add into the cost of everything... Bad times ahead!

$3.11 at Costco when I filled up a few days ago. I'm sure it has gone up since then. Most of the stations I passed were 3.40- 3.50. Lets go brandon!
