Hicksville Gun Range Hicksville Gun Range
Range fee is $10/shooter and 25% off groups of 10 or more.
    225 Dusty Lane

The range has paper and steel targets for pistol, rifle out to 600 yrds, allows most targets you might want to bring including watermelons and bottles(no glass), and has tannernite for $10 according to the website so it should be a pretty good time.

I will be bringing sandwiches and SCGStuff has offered to bring chips for those who want to eat at the range.

So let me know if you wanna come out and have fun. I need to get a good head count so shoot me a PM with a yes or maybe and how many you plan to bring.

Also let us know what you plan to bring and what you want to shoot.

We probably plan to bring 4 and we want to shoot guns! We really like steel targets, would like to try reactive targets (like the star) or any other fun target and will bring some toys to share, if anyone wants to try them.

    Anzio Ironworks 20mm?

But seriously, wouldn't mind puttin a few rounds through that AR10, or anything HK, or the M1, closest I've come to that is a mini-14. I have a gun fetish...

I'm going to get another AR-10 soon for myself. Her's is an Armalite, which is what I wanted to stick with. I've tested about 16 different brands of ammo, I will bring what I know performs the best. I may have a PS-90 by then too, so that might be another one I bring.

I just got off the phone with the fine folks at Hicksville range.

If we choose to do a pot luck type lunch they have one picnic table that seats 8 and he said he may have another built by the 16th, if not he offered to move a couple of tables from the rifle and pistol ranges for us to use.

So, what would everyone like to do, pot luck or find a place to eat later for those that feel like going.

They do have a Pizza Hut in Gatesville, but I don't know where all they deliver and how far away from the center of town the range is. I do like their wings, though......

Man, if I had a truck I would just haul out my damn smoker and grill, slap a brisket, rack of ribs, and some steaks and call it done.

Benji's BBQ place is hard to find open. I bought my house from him. He's open about 1/2 the time I run into town. Studebakers Pizza is in town too but I don't know if they deliver. I live west of Gatesville and I heard that Pizza hut will go about 5 miles out to the county garage. About the same distance east so you might check with them. Lots of good places to eat in town. Stockyard on 36 and 84 has great food. I might be there depends on what we have going on at that time.
