The trouble with a government trying to making a country fit the image some politician envisions, including ours right now. They have not figured out that people get in the way of the perfect image they have.

somewhat agree - and in their (both political parties) messed up thought[sic] process "they've" managed to turn most every civilized[sic] country in the world into "haters of the U.S."

we need to get away from the "keeper of the world" mentality and consider a little well managed isolationism (that is if the U.S. wants to survive in a manner in which most of us want)

Isolationism would be bad for us, but I agree that we need to stop meddling in other people's affairs. Trade is the best way to form beneficial international relationships.

^^^^ history has proven that over and over. With a good military to defend against those that would try to take instead of trade. The Swiss are proof of that.

Once the US produced what the rest of the world wanted and had the military to protect the country to do it. Now our leaders want to buy from every other country and cringe when one says Boo! And then can not figure out what is wrong. So much for intelligent leadership. SMDH

Once again we have proven that America can be counted upon to get involved, and then quit.. The Iraq " government " purged pro American officers. Just like the Marxist in charge is doing here at home.

The problem is that if you fight a limited war, you can reach a point where you can *claim* victory and leave, but the other side at that point has a chance to come back after you have left. The US is too interested in being "politically correct" these days and fails to realize that the only way to win these types of wars is to kill every last one of the people who oppose them or at least to kill enough of them and prove that you are willing to exterminate the rest of them so that they will play nice from then on since they know that you're willing to do whatever it takes. This worked quite well with Japan since they are one of our stronger allies these days. When you have fanatical religious zealots, the only way that you can "reason" with them is when they are dead. Fighting limited warfare will just result in having to revisit the issue at some time in the future.

If ya'll wanna see something, brace yourself for this. It's an hour and some minutes long. It's real disconcerting to watch all of that American firepower get lit on fire, the weapons jacked, and all kinds of other shit.

I think that the government's stand on Vietnam was something like, "We've succeeded in getting South Vietnam to the point where they can fight the war on their own, so we can pull out and they can handle it".

If you are going to get into something like this, you need to be willing to do whatever it takes to win. If that includes using nukes and wiping out the entire population of your adversary, so be it.
