Great questions. Who is the main group promoting this? NRA, OCT, TSRA? Which bills and authors should we get behind?

I read where there is some sort of rally at the capitol soon. Ill try to dig up the date. It works. My old neighbor in Illinois rode a bus to the capitol there for several years to go to concealed carry rallies. They finally got it.

Im near ATX so me me know how I can help on the ground here.

HB 106, HB 164 and HB 185 are the current filed bills concerning open cary.

I suppose we would need to find out who sits on the committee that the bills have to go through and lean on them to vote right then continue that positive pressure through the process. If there isnt a cohesive group doing so, one should be formed.

Between the members and sponsors here, we're strong!

I can pester a few state reps. That's about it.
If an organization doesn't exist that speaks for "US", then let's make our own noise.

The "moms" don't equal us in numbers or dollars.
It's time to play hardball guys.

    Read my sig line.
    This time, it's about Texas!

In the latest edition of the TSRA magazine there were several mentions of being time for OC in Texas. One being from the current president so hopefully they are going to lobby for it this go around.

    It's about damn time.

TSRA. You bet! They need to recognize TGT.
    HB195. Don't water it down!
I'll support them, as long as they represent me.

I read that article and apparently forgot about it. But is the TSRA actively lobbying for the bill. what's the name of their lady lobbyist?

Matt, with all your passion and interest in these topics, do you have any contacts that might lead us in the right direction?

I'm beating the bushes and trying to figure out where the momentum is with this thing. That's where we need to throw in. Going on our own is less effective than if there is already a good movement to join.

I'm hoping OCT is rebooting and can make themselves a bit more mainstream without losing any of their punch. Basically just want them to mature and be a little more pragmatic in their PR.

Good on Lee for posting this thread. It goes back to the church sermon last Sunday. Got to first acknowledge where you are, then take action. TAKE ACTION don't wait for the perfect time when it's convenient and perfect.
