We had food in some Mexican place somewhere along what passes for their main drag. Don't remember the name, but there really isn't anything outstanding in town.
Little further west of town toward Chalk Mountain (maybe 15 minutes?), but Loco Coyote Grill for sure. http://www.lococoyotegrill.com/. Your best bet. Good food, cold beer, relaxed country atmosphere, and really affordable.
If you're looking for high end, try Rough Creek Lodge a little further out. https://roughcreek.com/dining/#recipe-dining/ More like Reata or Del Frisco's. Great service, atmosphere and food, but expensive.
Hammond's BBQ on 67 in town is decent, but not great IMO. Haven't eaten there in years. Used to be a Mexican place just a little west of Hammond's on the same side of 67 that was pretty good, but not sure if it's still there or not. Riverhouse Grill downtown seems to get good reviews, but never tried it.
Loco Coyote for sure. We ride motorcycles out there a lot. If the weather is nice it will be packed with bikes, but it's still family friendly. Damn good bbq and cold beer.
ETA, it's not far from downtown but you'll have to google or gps how to get there.
