Hello all. I am new to handguns and was considering purchasing a Glock 17C as my first. Anyone willing to weigh in on the Pro's and Con's of that particular model?

Also, does anyone know of a good place to purchase one in the south Fort Worth area? I live right off of Hulen Street.

The 17C would be a good starter gun. The compensated model has virtually no recoil with proper grip, it's full size, reliable, and has good capacity. On top of that it's affordable.

The only thing I tell people before they buy a compensated gun is that they need to be aware that it will produce flash at night through the ports. This will cause temporary loss of your night vision (your eyes will adjust to the bright light).

Later if you decide you don't want it compensated you can just put in a factory 17 barrel or one of the myriad of replacement barrels out there, like Lone Wolf, Bar-Sto, etc.
